On a snowy Friday night in Greater Cincinnati, three friends crammed into a small storefront to play a few country songs for winter-weary friends. From this unassuming occasion, Jamison Road was born. With country roots and a rock-n-roll attitude, this talented trio has moved rapidly from storefront to front-and-center. Amid a sea of modern pop-country artists, Jamison Road is an unexpected and unconventional source of "Country that ROCKS." In January 2012, they began recording their debut album (released in May 2012) at a prominent Nashville studio.
Jamison Road is - Jennifer DePalma, Brent Duersch, and Laurie Heltsley.
When Jennifer DePalma sings, people listen. She has one of those voices -- powerful, soulful, and belonging only to someone who was born to sing. Hers is a voice that will make you remember the first time you heard it. With passion and an unparalleled love for music, Jennifer captivates a live audience, bringing you along for the high-energy ride down Jamison Road. A talented songwriter, Jennifer is the primary pen behind the JR catalog.
Brent Duersch is the man behind the signature JR sound. Brent plays guitar -- ANY guitar, with the single prerequisite that it ROCKS. Brent brings raw energy and high intensity to any instrument with strings. A veteran of multiple genres, from funk-punk to big band swing, Brent is equally at home on stage and in the studio, where he is a master at arrangement, production, and engineering. Together, Brent and Jennifer have a catalog of original music compiled over 10 years as a duo.
Ultimately, the duo became a trio after a guest appearance with Laurie Heltsley in a local cover band. The rest, as they say, is history. Laurie provides the signature harmonies that define and distinguish the JR sound. The ultimate utility musician, Laurie does it all -- guitar, bass, percussion -- and she does it well. A talented songwriter and arranger, Laurie is a veteran of the country music scene and the roots-based heartbeat of Jamison Road.
