Jasmine Sage is the vocalist and guitarist of the Seattle-based band of the same name, with Kelsey Mines on bass and James Dyer on drums.
Born of Cherokee and German decent, in 2009 Jasmine had an encounter with wild dolphins at Venice Beach that propelled her into three years of nonstop songwriting from a remote cottage in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. From there she wrote, arranged and performed all instruments on self-recorded demos above the Columbia River amidst sleepless nights and endless streaming riffs. It was during this time that she contacted Long Beach producer Matt Wignall known for his work with the Cold War Kids. After two years of exchanging demos, Sage spent the first half of 2012 in Los Angeles working with Wignall to produce the first body of published material, which was released in early 2013.
Influenced by singers like Grace Slick, Jim Morrison and Robert Plant, who have changed how we think of music with their visceral approaches
to singing and performance, these strong figures have made their mark, as anyone who has seen Jasmine perform can attest. Called “otherly” by fans that witness her raw, primal and sexual live performances, her ethereal rock sound has been described as "edgy-angelic, fierce and celestial". Sage is also a model, her red lips being the mascot for the HBO series True Blood.
