Jean’s fascination with music began at the age of 6 when she began picking out melodies on her two octave xylophone. She began private piano lessons at the age of 7. She continued lessons throughout high school where she entered and won numerous solo piano competitions. She has also been a church pianist for 35 years. Her passion for music has continued to grow over the years and in 1994 she began writing and performing her own compositions. She also began writing orchestrations of her music adding other instrumentation to her lyrical piano compositions.
Her instrumental music has been aired on various radio stations across the country as well as internet radio. She has performed benefit concerts for Agape Christian School, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Sartori Hospital Festival of Trees as well as performing at the V.I.P. reception for the Allen Hospital benefit. Jean has performed at various locations throughout the Cedar Valley as a solo pianist including the Cedar Falls Womens Club, Gallagher Blue Dorn Performing Arts Center, Debut Art Gallery, Farradays' at the Isle of Capri Casino, Sunnyside Country Club, Elks Club, Centennial Oaks Country Club, Park Place (PIPAC) Events Center, and Von Maur Department Stores. Jean was also a finalist in the Great American Song Contest in the Instrumental category for 2 consecutive years.
Jean is currently employed as a regular pianist at Von Maur Department stores in Cedar Falls, IA. She continues to perform at many local events and charities and is also the owner of Mozart's Place Piano Studio where she works with students of all ages and skill levels to pass on her love for music.
