Jeannette Claudine Romeu was born with absolute "perfect pitch". She is fifth generation musician from the legendary, musical family, "Romeu". Her father, Armando de Sequeria Romeu played Jazz drums and her uncle Armando Romeu directed the orchestra for the "Unforgettable" Nat King Cole. Jeannette's vast knowledge and discipline came from early childhood. She was only three years old when she started to study Classical piano with her grandmother Zenaida Romeu. She continued her classical music education, studying Russian Music methods in conservatories such as Alejandro Garcia Caturla and Maria Jones de Castro. As a child, she was also classically trained in voice, music theory, ear training, music dictation, composition, music appreciation and classical guitar. Jeannette gave her first Baroque, Johann Sebastian Bach, piano concert when she was only four years old, same time she discovered her passion for writing words and music.
Jeannette had her own TV show for many years in La Havana, since she was five years old. She grew up accustomed to singing and recording songs with various Tv orchestras, singing in different languages and acting on television. Born in La Havana, but also lived in Madrid, Spain. Here she continued her classical piano training as well as classical guitar. After living in Europe, she came to the USA, Miami and later established herself in New York City. Her rich melange of French / Cuban-American and Spanish backgrounds play an important influence in her style and in her unique artistic evolution.
Jeannette Claudine always made good use of her talents and still is recording today, many songs that came from deep within with a natural flow.
As a music student from the University of Miami, school of Jazz Piano Performance, she received music awards including the Golden Key to The National Honor Society and gold medals, as she was also recognized and enrolled in the Dean's list for her outstanding scholastic achievements.
Her Jazz teachers were: Armando de Sequeira Romeu, J.B. Dyas, Don Militello, Vincent Lawrence De Maggio, Don Coffman, Jeff Laibson, Jazz virtuoso Nat Adderley and his great Jazz Pianist Larry Willis. In classical Piano: Zenaida Romeu, Zulema Romeu and Rosalina Sackstein.
Jeannette has recorded fifteen albums of her own. She also enjoys collaborating with other talented musicians.
A natural singer since the age of four, a multi instrumentalist with the gift of perfect pitch. As a youngster, she played the guitar and keyboards Live, for Rock Star Buckman Turner Overdrive, in hits such as: "You ain't seen nothing yet" and "Taking care of business".
Her Live performances are unique and exiting, full of life and vibrant energy.
She is a true master of her craft. Jeannette had the great honor to learned production and engineering next to Legendary record producer and master engineer Mr.Thomas Dowd. He collaborated in many of her songs and guided Jeannette as her mentor.
She always worked closed to her dedicated "Guru" of sound design and master engineering Mr. Deryck Ragoonanan.
Jeannette has shared stages with many Rock and Dance super stars such as Carlos Santana, Andrea Bocelli, Erika Badu, Ziggy Marley, Kevens, Crystal Method, Dj Paul Oakenfold, Chemical Brothers, M & M's D12, DJ Paul Van Dyke, Crystal Method, Uberzone, Planet B and many other great talents. Galaxy has also been featured in recent recording "The Oval Sun" and "Chocolate" with worldly known Deejay and producer George Acosta.
Like a giant living library with the History of the Universe, there are no limits for what she can do and offer as a multidimensional artist. Although music is her world, painting, sculpturing, acting and designing are also very much a part of her life.
She is driven by the passion to perform "The Big Beat", you won't forget!!.
