Shogun Warrior is a congregation of longtime friends and musical collaborators from Los Angeles, comprised of its founder, bassist MIKE ELIZONDO (who produced Maroon 5, Rilo Kiley, cowrote 50 Cent's "in Da Club" among others, and plays bass on productions from T Bone Burnett, etc.), keyboardist JEFF BABKO (who tours with Sheryl Crow, appears nightly on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and whose 'Mondo Trio' CD was called one of Down Beat magazine's best of 2008), trumpet/EVI player JOHN DAVERSA (who leads his own very popular progressive big band of original music and L.A.'s finest young musicians), guitarist TOSHI YANAGI (also on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", L.A. session guitarist and programmer, and with own modern guitar soundscape CD 'Hello Humanoids'), and drummer TOSS PANOS (who plays with Robben Ford, gained notoriety with "Michael Landau Trio", Steve Vai).
After 7 years of monthly visits to the legendary Baked Potato club, the band decided to record live. They picked the best songs from the second night of a 2 night run in 2008, and it's finally released for your listening pleasure.
