Jemma was born and raised on a farm in Tairgwaith near Ammanford in the Valleys.
Jemma got her first guitar when she was 10 years old and learnt a few chords and it all started from there...
Jemma wrote her first few songs when she was 13 and performed her first gig of original material at the Waun Rugby Club in Cwmgors.
She went on to perform at places like The Monkey Cafe, The Chattery, The Tenby and The Uplands Tavern in Swansea and continued to write songs and play. She went on to record her first album when she was 16 at Peter and Lorraine King's Hot Town Studio's in Swansea.
Jemma performed on Owen Money's T.V show 'Just Up Your Street' at the age of 17, performing a cover of Alison Krauss's- 'Baby, Now that I found you.' Jemma got through to the final 16 and was seen by dA Records in Penarth- Cardiff, who recorded Jemma which led her to perform on German Cartoon Soundtracks. Jemma was chosen to record the voice over's of the character in the Cartoon, and also chosen to perform the main theme song and recorded a music video for 'Free Ride' which was part of a compilation album in Germany and got to number 1 in the German Music charts and stayed there for 3 weeks.
When Jemma turned 18 She decided to pack up and move to Los Angeles, California, She stayed out there for just over a year- performing gigs in and around Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.
Jemma moved back to the U.K at the age of 20, Lived in Leeds for a year- performing gigs and writing, and then eventually moved back to Wales in 2009. Jemma is now playing gigs in and around the U.K, and also working on a new album of material.
Jemma is also part of a band- 'Gentle Sea' from Swansea, along with Pierre Davies, Carys Davies, Raithe Lawrence and Ray Church. The Gentle Sea are performing gigs in and around Swansea, Cardiff and London and have just finished recording their E.P. Gentle Sea are a Country/Folk/Americana Band
