Jennifer is a prolific singer/songwriter and has released 8 records, a live DVD recorded in Rome, Italy, a poetry book that is archived at Harvard University and an international touring schedule that has encompassed the U.S., Japan, Korea, Italy, Switzerland, England and Alaska gaining her the reputation as being an artist whose music and performance are unforgettable.
Matthews studied vocal performance at the University of Colorado in Boulder and at Denver's School of Music. While in Colorado, she established herself as a solo artist, performing in local bars and coffeehouses. During this period she developed her unique vocal style and her songs gained recognition, leading to several awards from the Rocky Mountain Music Association. This also led to an invitation for Jennifer to bring her band and her music overseas to perform for the U.S. troops stationed in Asia.
Jennifer received an acknowledgement award from Billboard Music Magazine stating that she is writing at a high level as a songwriter and compared her song ‘The Wheel’ as an example of what great songs are made of. Her 2005 CD, ‘The Wheel’, was picked up by ACM Records in New York City and received international distribution. Metronome Music Magazine placed "The Wheel" in their Top 15 picks of the year for 2005 right along with guitar god Eric Johnson and Elvin Bishop... they wrote... Jennifer’s licensing credits include: ‘Brother’ placed in ‘Spy the Movie’, ‘Lemon Peels and Tangerines’… recently placed on the CW Hit TV Series Gossip Girl, ‘Digital Jargon’ on E ! News Live and ‘Raise the Radio’ on the compilation ‘Female Revolution’ (ACM records, NY).
