Jeremy grew up in Kansas as the third of four children. (That pretty much means all the music he performs is so that someone somewhere might possibly notice him). Jeremy has been passionate about music from the very beginning. It started with tinkering on the family piano, picking out melodies on his father’s guitar, and picking up a set of bells for the school band. Those were the seeds of a long love affair with all things having to do with the writing and performing of music. “Music has never been a mere option. It may seem dormant for a season, but it is truly my obsession”, explains Jeremy. “For some, music is a branch on the tree of their life. For me, it is the bark.” This is evident in Jeremy’s “move-me-with-the-music-and-the-words-will-follow” song writing style.
Jeremy’s artistry and musical prowess lead him to earn his Percussion Performance degree from Kansas State University . It was during this time that Jeremy became deeply involved in Christian Challenge, a campus ministry to students, where God lit a raging fire in him to see all people hear, experience, and maybe even touch the heart of God through music. Jeremy is now writing and recording music to help people do that very thing as a worship leader for the Christian Challenge ministry at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
The latest work from Jeremy, his new CD “This is Christmas”, is a continuation of that passion to help people capture and recapture peeks into God’s heart for Himself, others and even ourselves through music.
