Jim Greene sings, writes songs, and plays the bass and acoustic guitar. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, a town steeped in the tradition of live music. Music soon took him to NYC, where he lived for over a decade playing stand-up bass, touring, and recording with many great musicians. Here he formed The Delegates, which included Neal Sugarman from Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. That band received critical and popular acclaim as it toured and recorded. In demand as a bass player, Jim has performing and recording with The Flying Neutrinos, Ron Sunshine, Ian Hendrickson-Smith, Anders Osborne, Mike Younger, just to name a few.
In the last few years Jim began working on his latest singer/songwriter project, "Out In The Dark". Influenced by folk-rock writers like John Hiatt, Jackson Browne, John Prine, The Counting Crows, and Train. The words and music are thick with emotion, and evoke moods and places that we all seem to know, or want to visit.
