Jim & Holly Lawrence

Biography

Jim & Holly are father and daughter singers of Irish and Scottish folk ballads who performed at festivals, coffee houses, weddings, pubs, private functions, and concerts since 1997.
Both hold music degress from the University of Mary Washington, Holly's with an emphasis in voice. Like her father, she sang in Fredericksburg Singers, the local college/community choral group.
Unlike her father, she sang in girls' chorus and sang several solos in Operafest productions at the university.
Besides singing in the Fredericksburg Singers, a community/college choral ensemble, Jim has performed rock n'roll, pop standards, and folk music to live audiences over the past four decades.
Both are excellent solo singers and together their harmony is that tight family blend that sounds so natural.
They have released three CDs, Of Gaels and Saints, Celtic Harmonies, and Caledonian Shadows, the last of which was nominated by the Washington Area Music Association for best traditional folk album of 2011. All three CDs are available on CDbaby.
