Jim Repa lives in the Boston area and plays alto and soprano saxophone, flute, and alto flute. He is an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music where he studied jazz composition with Herb Pomeroy and Greg Hopkins. Jim is a prolific composer who has penned nine of the tunes on his recent CD "Destinations." Jim has also recorded and performed with the Mark Snyder Quartet, the Steve Langone Group, singers Lynne Jackson and Mike Palter, and a host of small and large ensembles. As a leader and sideman, he has performed in numerous venues around New England and the midwest, as well as Paris, France; Cape Town, South Africa; and Ojai, California. As a saxophonist, Jim draws his influences from Paul Desmond, Cannonball Adderley, and John Coltrane.
