JL is 1/3 of a group called B.Hood (Brotherhood), a band of 3 brothers. Alongside Vi Royal & Zoo, JL has rocked many stages and dropped multiple mixtapes and projects locally and nationwide. In addition to work with the group, he has created a major buzz for himself as a solo artist. With the help of Full Effect Music Group over the years JL of B.Hood has become a household name in Kansas City.
JL has opened for many different acts across America such as- Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Machine Gun Kelly, Ace Hood, Tha Jacka, Hurricane Cris, Krizz Kaliko, Chip The Ripper, Chevy Woods, Jay Rock amongst others. As well as headlined many shows locally and in surrounding cities.
In March 2011 Tech N9ne released “Worldwide Choppers” as a single off his Album “All 6′s & 7′s” the song featured Busta Rhymes, Twista, Yelawolf, Ceza, JL of B.Hood and others. The single spread across the world and opened a lot of doors and opportunities. Fans in “Strangeland” know JL from other features like “Far Out” on “The Ollie Gates Mixplate” and “I’m The One” from Kutt Calhouns’ “Red Headed Stepchild”. And is featured on Tech's EP "EBAH" releasing September 18th 2012.
JL dropped his 1st solo mixtape “Just Landed” in 2011. The mixtape created a lot of buzz and talk locally and boasted his fanbase dramatically. Full Effect Music Group released a compilation “No I In Team WE DAT” which featured 4 songs from B.Hood. He dropped an EP produced entirely by Info Gates "Heavy Metal Objects" March 31st 2012. The LP "Brain Scatter" droped August 18th 2012. Working on a B.Hood EP and an EP with friends Dutch Newman & Joey Cool “3 The Hard Way” as well as other projects to be released this year.
