Joanne Burns has been writing music for over ten years. Her main focus of music is Christian on the light side. She has recorded with various studio musicians and as a result the sound is different on the two CD's she recorded. The first CD, Prayers of the Heart is very peaceful with mandolin, guitar and flute accompaniament. The second album, Jesus Take the Wheel was recorded with a musical family, Tom, Donna, Leslie and Paul Johnson. Fred Powell, Joanne's guitar teacher also appears on this album. The music on Jesus Take t he Wheel has a few upbeat songs on it. Many people wonder about the title song, Jeus Take the Wheel. Its sound is completely different from the one by the same title recorded by Carrie Underwood. Jesus Take the Wheel is a hootinany contry song with a footstomping beat. The Carrie Underwood song is a souldful ballad.
Joanne is married to her husband, David who sings with her at their church, St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Aston, Pa. Joanne is very active in working with people who have physical disabilities and has been playing music for their enjoyment for about 12 years.
