A 6 time RAMI and 5 time On The Waterfront Best of Rockford Award winning jazz musician, Jodi and her Trio regularly perform throughout the country. After the release of their fourth CD, “Christmas”, they were recently inducted into the RAMI Hall of Fame, the Illinois Arts Council Artstour Roster and the National Independent Artist’s Registry.
If you ask her mother when Jodi first began to sing, she will look at you with a very sincere face and ask, “When hasn’t she?” Truly from birth Jodi has been warming people’s hearts with pure and beautiful vocal tones. At the age of five she started piano lessons and could read sheet music before she could read English
Jodi began her performance career at the age of six singing in church. While completing her degree in vocal performance from Judson University, Jodi capitalized on opportunities to perform thought the United Sates, Canada, and Europe. In addition to working with The Jodi Beach Trio, Jodi has also been a guest soloist with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, The Kantorei Singing Boys of Rockford, The Rockford Wind Ensemble, The Rockford Concert Band and various other performing ensembles throughout the region. Her position as Artist in Residence with colleges and high schools has allowed countless aspiring young singers to learn from these experiences.
Though Jodi can bang out notes with the best of them she has never been one to “trade solos and go home”. She can always be heard playing well thought out and rehearsed arrangements that pull your heart strings one minute, kick your dance shoes the next, and always treat you to the thing she loves to do the most….SING!
