Joe Given is a 19 year old singer, songwriter, performer, from Surrey, BC. He's performed at over 400 events / shows over the past few years.
Joe has won numerous music related awards, including the "Artistic Achievement Award", from The Canadian Club of Vancouver, at the 2010 Canada SOARS Awards. He also won a Dogwood District Authority Award Scholarship, in the Fine Arts Category, for excelling in the area of music, (awarded in Oct, 2010).
His Album: “Sideways Point of View”, was recorded in 2008 & 2009, (during his voice change). Since then, he's written many new songs, and is currently working on his next Album, which he hopes to release in early 2012. Stay tuned for updates ...

Joe’s style is a mix of pop, rock, R&B and Soul. His live performances range from 5 minutes, to 3.5 hours long & often include cover songs & originals. His musical influences include The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, Led Zeppelin, Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Nora Jones, Metric, Cold Play, Smokey Robinson, & many others.
Joe also loves acting, and has had roles in High School, and Community Theatre Productions. He was nominated in 2011, by the Community Theatre Coalition, for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical ...", for his role as Schroeder, in the musical: 'You're a Good Man Charlie Brown', which had a 4 week run, from Feb 3 - 26, 2011, (15 shows), at Surrey Little Theatre.
Joe was selected as one of the BC Musicians included in the Music BC promotional material, which was presented by Music BC, (on behalf of the BC Music Industry), at the Canadian Music Mission to Asia: a music trade mission to Japan, November, 2008. Joe has also been a judge on panels for various music related shows and events in 2009 and 2010.
With a passion for singing, songwriting & performing ... Joe plans to continue to work with music in ways that help make a positive difference.
He is also a university student, studying in the Business Management Program, at Kwantlen Polytechnic Unversity.
