BIOGRAPHY
John "JT" Thompson grew up in central Pennsylvania, but soon found himself in himself in the deep South, playing in Louisiana music dens, Texas cowboy bars, Mississippi juke joints, and absorbing bayou culture. After a Biloxi hurricane, JT headed to Atlanta, where he continued working up and down the East coast. He later joined Lotsa Poppa (400 Lbs of Soul) touring the Southeast and appearing regularly at Atlanta Blues clubs.
In 2002, JT returned home, where his singing, and piano playing have made him a fixture on the central PA music scene. Thompson was a Top 8 Finalist in the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN, where he represented the Billtown Blues Association.
He’s a Jamarama host for the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, and his 2012 CD “This Way That Way” has been delighting Blues fans everywhere, proving to be a complimentary follow-up to his internationally acclaimed 2010 album “Chase Away Your Blues.”
