Born on March 22, 1949, to Paul and Betty Cook in Bradford, TN. Johnny has three sons & seven grandchildren. On May 14, 2000, Johnny passed away in Huntsville, Alabama.
Johnny Cook, former tenor of the Happy Goodman Family (and later the re-organized Statesmen Quartet). Johnny was arguably one of the greatest high tenors ever.

Johnny Cook had a long and illustrious career as a tenor singer, singing with some of the biggest names in Southern Gospel. He may be best remembered for his years singing with the Happy Goodmans where he and Vestal Goodman would often engage in friendly contests to see who could sing higher. Johnny usually won. Johnny also released several solo albums.
