Every track of this new record bears witness to Jon’s talent as a dedicated singer, songwriter and musician - from the chilling vocal delivery of "Want Me Now" to the stripped down poetry of "You Are Alive" to the head-bopping grooves of "Another Drop of Rain” and “Save Another." It was recorded in Austin , TX with producer Billy White over a seven month period. White did the programming, played the electric base, electric and acoustic guitar, and percussion and JJ Johnson was on drums (formerly of the John Mayer Trio). The songs were topped off with the sweet, soulful backup vocals of Sasha Ortiz, Tameca Jones, and Pam Miller. The record was mixed by Dave Boyle at his own Church House Studios on the East Side of Austin. In addition to mixing the tracks, Boyle played piano, clavinet, organ, & the Wurlitzer. Jon’s record has all the right ingredients, most importantly a passion that will be apparent to his listeners from the moment they press play.
From the time he picked up a guitar at age 14, Jon has surrendered himself to music. He has spent the majority of his adult life between Austin , Texas and New York City , playing at venues such as La Zona Rosa, the Knitting Factory, Bitter End, Waltz-Astoria and performing on media outlets like the Austin Music Network, Fox Morning News, and KLBG. Jon is a hardworking mortgage banker by day, dedicating any spare time and money to his music. With his riveting lyrics Jon encourages us to keep moving forward and to never stare back.
