Josean Jacobo is a pianist, composer and arranger born on August 17th, 1983 in Santo Domingo. Studied “Jazz Composition” at “Berklee College of Music”, and “Filmscoring” at EMU, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Josean Jacobo & Tumbao Is an Afro Dominican/ Latin jazz quartet from the Dominican Republic with complex and open harmonies, but with simple melodies along with contagious rhythms from The Dominican Republic, Africa, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and The United States. The quartet explores caribbean rhythms such as: Cha cha cha, rhumba, son, mozambique, and others. Also explores rhythms from the Dominican Republic such as: merengue, palo, gagá, pri‐pri, machacó, and mixes them with Jazz.
