BIOGRAPHY

Joshua C. Allen is a singer and songwriter from Kokomo, IN. His instrument of choice is the acoustic guitar. On his debut album "The Beginning" he plays an array of instruments from guitar to banjo, jawharp, and the glockenspiel as well as singing all of the vocal parts: melody, harmony and backing vocals. He can also play the didgeridoo. He aspires to be a published poet and has a passion for gardening, ecological sustainability, and lucid dreaming.

I came up with the melody for this song and some of the lyrics in the Summer/Fall of 2000. I was 17 years old. I completed the song a few weeks after my 29th birthday and have experienced a profound sense of fulfillment because of it. The idea expressed in this song, that our existence is undifferentiated from all else that exists, that it has always been this way and always will be, is the one thought that brings me the most comfort with my mortality.
