Joshua Watts

Biography

The idea for Joshua Watts starting to release albums came to him late 2007 when he began taking his song writing seriously. The original thought was to sell his song to established artists, but after recording his own demos and letting others hear his work, he decided to create his own album for the fun of it and see how it went.

Under the name of Watts Project, Joshua released his first solo album in early 2009 entitled “What’s Left Of Me.” Under 50 copies were made and so far he has sold all but two without any promotion other than a website and word of mouth.

In the spring of 2008, Joshua began working on writing new songs. Torn between just being a song writer and a recording artist, he decided to give it a shot an enlisted Shannon Delzer to help out with the vocals. Her voice quickly became the shining star in Joshua’s music. So much so, that Joshua even started writing his songs specifically for her voice and decided to have her sing lead vocals on about half of his tracks. Later in 2008 Shannon suggested bring in a friend, Kelly Thomasson, to help out with the harmonies. Joshua was impressed with the sound of them together.

Joshua’s second album is due to be release in the spring of 2010. It has a completely different sound than his previous efforts and has a much harder edge to it.

Lament
2010
“Lament” is a powerful mix of folk and hard rock music fused together. The song writing is seriously heartfelt and carefully thought out. With a ghostly vocal sound, Lament sounds like darkness turned into Light.
