Justin Mather

Biography

This acoustic (with some mouth harp/electric guitar embellishment) nine-songer outta Boulder City comes from a guy who spends a lot of time playing other people's songs in bars, and it's a shame. Not a shame in the sense that most cover artists' solo albums are. In fact, it's a shame Justin Mather doesn't focus primarily on his own material. With guitar somewhere between the clean picking of Townes Van Zandt and the poppy strumming of Mason Jennings; unassuming, yet confident and eerily-similar-to-early-Jeff-Tweedy vocal stylings; and a generally good vibe akin to Tom Petty, Mather -- with some slightly-needed lyrical development -- will be the one being covered. JACK JOHNSON
