Karl Jones (Mac Séoin) is a singer guitarist from Dublin Based in Sedona Arizona. A part of the vibrant Temple Lane Studios music scene in the eighties with Mixed up World performing at Mc Gonagles, The Halfpenny Inn, The Underground, The Iveagh Rooms, Temple Bar and The Baggot Inn before Karl left on hiatus with a Scholarship to Study and record at Omega Studio's performing extensively in the Washington DC metropolitan area. (DC Space, DuPont Circle/Eco Cafe, City Paper, NPR etc...) His debut concert at George Washington's Marvin Center with Skydancer was broad cast live on NPR and Radio Free Tibet in China. He was well reviewed by the Washington Post and USA today during that time. This secured him a Jazz Brunch weekly Sunday matinee show playing his Gibson archtop at the One Washington Circle Hotel Restaurant where he cultivated a following for his free style contemporary Celtic Acoustic RnB repertoire. After recording several New Age sounding records at Power Point Studio's with Mike Babbit incorporating Tibetan Chant and mantra very successful for Skydancer Mac Séoin went fully acoustic and returned to his simple Irish folk roots. This eventually led to Late Late Show appearances and the anticipated recording of his acclaimed Irish Folk record, "Dublin Soul" (Live, 2009). A beautifully produced concert recorded by Tim Jessup the popularity of this downloaded album firmly established Karl as an Irish Ballad singer and Celtic acoustic guitarist. He has sold several thousand copies of this popular CD and his debut American solo release "1916" (oasis / cdbaby.com released in 2006) also further helped to put him on Music magazine front covers in Arizona as one of the most downloaded Indie Folk artists nationally.
A successful studio collaboration in 2014 with EKM Studio's in C.T. resulted in his first studio album in a decade with singer D.J. And producer "Ren Knopf" at the helm titled "When Judgment Dies". This record released on St Patrick's day 2015 immediately caused a buzz by going Top 5 on the Reverb Nation Charts online. WJD also met with interest because it was Ren's album debut as a songwriter. An accomplished singer & D.J. in New York (D.J. Tanner / Step Up) she gives the album an at once ambient pop, trip hop and hard biting rock edge masterfully using the studio environment as an instrument for this superb record featuring compositions and covers by Dublin Soul put to D.J. Tanner's beats with stellar beavy metal guitar treatments from Tom Voytek on Cyndi Laupers "Time after time" the intended single. . A record for Sinead O Conner and Cranberries fans!!!
