Kathy’s love affair with the electric guitar started in the '70s with Liverpool punk band, the Accelerators. Returning to her hometown, London, in ' 81, she went on to perform with various projects including volume eleven trash rockers, The Birdhouse, female fronted punk-metal band Joyryde and later psychobilly party band The Death Valley Surfers. By 2000 she realised it was time to move on.... from an increasingly sterile, DJ-dominated scene in a city where it is a constant struggle to survive as a musician.
Death Valley Surfers had a gig at Berlin's acclaimed Wild at Heart club on New Years Eve 2000, which was a perfect opportunity for Kathy to transport herself and her battered Gibson SG to Berlin. In Berlin the more laidback and creative atmosphere enabled her to consolidate her considerable skills as a singer songwriter and to diversify her style. Now she alternates between high voltage psychobilly (with rockin power trio Kathy X) and playing swing, jazz and country covers with acoustic side project "The Silver-Tongued Devils".
She also plays "unplugged" solo shows from time to time, mixing her favourite and most haunting country and rockabilly songs with her own dark and powerful compositions.
