Kathy Reid-Naiman has been working and playing with children for a very long time. She started dancing and teaching play party games in the 1970s and has been influenced by many traditions along the way. She spends most of her working hours with preschool children teaching music and movement and has recorded 11 CDs for that age group.
This recording is a bit of a change of pace since it is mostly for older children and it is the first one that she has done with her daughter Hannah as her partner.
Hannah has been actively involved in the folk music community since birth, and has been leading songs and workshops for teenagers and adults since her youth at various music and dance camps Pinewoods (MA), Ogontz (NH) and Christmas Country Dance School (KY). This foray into playparties and children’s music is a relatively new, but arguable inevitable venture for Hannah. After many years of singing back up on Kathy Reid-Naiman’s recordings, she’s happy to share the main mic.
