Kenny West has been writing, recording, and producing his own songs since the year 2000. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 when a family friend gave him an old hand-me-down guitar. He quickly learned to play chords and started to build the chords into full songs. Before long he was playing songs for friends, family, classmates and at summer camp for fellow campers … in other words, basically, anyone that would listen. Just after High School Kenny took an interest in recording, rather than playing songs live. He recorded friend’s bands, fellow musicians and also recorded a vast portfolio of his own songs. Then in the summer of 2008 he was asked on very short notice to play a 30-minute set at a small coffee shop near his home. He threw together a set list of the best songs from his vast recording portfolio. He practiced the set in front of his pets several times and later that evening for a small but appreciative audience at the coffee shop. Declaring the show a success, he decided to pursue music as a solo artist. Since then Kenny has never looked back.
