Biography

Khalid Hanifi has been writing and performing his songs since the early 1980s, with such bands as Map of the World (Atlantic Records 1989-90), Kiss Me Screaming, and Maypops. His first proper solo album, “Pamplemousse Presse,” produced by Khalid and Geoff Michael, was released in September 2008. Recently, his work has been featured in such places as NBC's “Mercy,” and the PRX radio documentary “Finding Our Bootstraps: Americans Deal With Recession.”
