King Remedy is a two man heavy blues doom rock band from Pohja, southern Finland. Their style can be described as heavy rock from deep waters.
Antti Huttunen - vocals, bass guitar, bass drum
Jussi Konttinen - guitar, self-built snare-hi-hat-pedal-system
Ages 33 and 36, angry senior guys.
King Remedy was formed in the summer 2008, two weeks before their first gig. After that the band has been playing gigs every now and then in Finland, though mostly concentrating in developing their own sound. That meaning countless of hours spent in band's own cellar studio, chasing the vision.
King Remedy's first full length album Self Destruction was released in February 2010 (self-paid). It was entirely made within the family, from recording to mastering, photos to cover design.
As an inspiration for the two-guys-play-all-instruments -philosophy have been early primitive blues players and one-man-bands. These testify that in the end it's all about the deepness of interpretation. You can do with less if you can pick the right notes the right way.
Possible influences have been absorbed from anything that moves you, for example: Black Sabbath, Rose Tattoo, Electric Wizard, Deltahead, Xysma, John Lee Hooker, Entombed, Chuck Berry, and as you can guess, the list just goes on and on.
Guys have played hundreds of gigs combined with their earlier bands, including Chiefs of The Golden Mountain, Babylon Whores and Black River Bluesman & The Croaking Lizard. Mutual gigs with the last one mentioned in Nepal, Scotland, Estonia, Italy and all around Finland.
