All About King Tatie
King Tatie is a 16 years old rapper/singer/songwriter/actress/model of Zimbabwean heritage from London, UK. At an early age, she displayed a huge passion to perform and entertain in school productions, talent shows and competitions. Her parents, upon seeing King Tatie's passion, started enrolling her in vocal, dancing, modeling, and acting training. Acting and modeling have also been some of King Tatie's passions - performing under her legal name, Tatiana Chipondaminga, for both of these professions - but she chose to focus solely on music and pursued her music career in order to fulfill her vision.
Inspired by music artists such as Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and Rihanna, King Tatie set herself a goal to be the next global superstar. Her first major musical debut came about in July 2010, when she was invited to Los Angeles to compete in The World Championships of Performing Arts. This is an international competition, with 47 countries and 70,000 competitors competing to win. King Tatie was the first and only competitor representing United Kingdom to compete in the World Championships, where she won five medals - two bronze, two silver, and one industry medal for music, modeling, and acting. King Tatie says, "Entering the competition really made me realize that performing - especially music – is something I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and that I would do whatever it takes to fulfill my goal and achieve my dream.” Her second major musical debut was the international release of her single, "This Is How We Do It" on iTunes and other major music networks, in 2012, which followed with a promotional tour. The promotional tour took King Tatie to Africa for 3 months, and consisted of performing and presenting an award at the Zim Hip Hop Awards 2012, opening up for Ice Prince (winner of Best International Act, BET Awards 2013), doing a commercial for Zimbabwe's Nugget Shoe Polish brand, radio interviews with Zimbabwe's top 3 radio stations (StarFM, ZiFM Stereo, and PowerFM), and television interviews with their top television network — ZBC TV; King Tatie also appeared as a front cover and feature in Zimbabwe's biggest newspaper, the Zim Herald. Fulfilling her other passionate goal of becoming a philanthropist, King Tatie took some time out of her schedule whilst in Zimbabwe, in order to visit the Zimbabwe Orphan Care, where she gave the children free gift bags, performed for and played with them.
Due to the success of King Tatie's promotional tour, she followed up with a second tour -this time, a world tour - in 2014. Her first show started in Denver Colorado, where she served as an opening act for Soulja Boy. After the concert, she had an interview with one of Denver's local internet stations, DumpVillain Entertainment. King Tatie's next stops for her world tour included Dubai (where she performed at the grand opening of Chi Loge), Zimbabwe again (where she
performed at the Chitungwiza Music Festival, was a featured article again in the Zim Herald, and did radio and tv interviews at the same stations as her promotional tour), Mozambique (where she performed at the Boma Festival), Ireland (where she performed at the YouBloom Music Festival), and United Kingdom(where she performed at the Southburgh Festival of World Music, was interviewed by the Eastern Daily Press, and was a featured article on New Zimbabwe and All Africa).
Just as any other musician, King Tatie has breaks from her busy schedule, where she has time to focus on other aspects of her music career. These other aspects include using her musical talents for humanitarian causes, where she is a regular performer at the Toys for Tots Charity Showcase in Los Angeles, California. King Tatie also enjoys participating in school tours, where she performs for her fellow youth generation while promoting and encouraging the importance of staying in school. Her passion of promoting the brand of staying in school is due to her personal experience with the benefits of education throughout her music career, which include earning prestigious academic awards for maintaining a 4.0 GPA, as well as an award for Outstanding
Academic Achievement. King Tatie also earned prestigious awards in music, such as receiving a distinction for Grade 1 from the Association Board Royal School of Music and Drama, the Victoria Wilson Music Cup, and 1st Place in the Cinderella UK Beauty Pageant (an international competition where she advanced to Dallas, Texas for the preliminary round and finals). Using her musical abilities, King Tatie is concentrating on paving her own path in the entertainment industry, where her main focus is to bring unique and creative artistry to the music world, as she strives to make herself a household name.
