BIOGRAPHY
First off, a big warm hug to all my special friends, thanking you for tuning in and helping me celebrate my crazy life as THE GREATEST UNKNOWN DRUMMER.

Clifford Hoad – originally started THE YOUNG LIONS in 1981 with his brother Jeff and Bob Spencer (ex Finch & Skyhooks). This band went on to become The Kings Of The Sun which became one of the most talked about, and loved, hard rock acts Australia has ever produced internationally.The band signed to Mushroom Records with their first release “Bottom Of My Heart” which enjoyed chart success, music clip and an appearance on countdown in 1986.
On the strength of their exciting live act, KINGS OF THE SUN were signed to RCA Records, New York by Simon Lowe for 4yrs in 1987 making their classic debut first album self titled KINGS OF THE SUN produced by Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Led Zeppelin & Kiss). Included were the singles and videos, “Serpertine” & “Black Leather” (which was banned on MTV for being too risqué).
Strong chart success, a USA tour followed by a European tour with KISS in 1988, strengthened their profile and secured their place amongst the rock and roll heavy weights.
Living in Malibu Beach California, the Hoad brothers Cliff and Jeff set out to write their second album in 1990, FULL FRONTAL ATTACK.
Second album, Cliff say’s is their finest, boasted two singles. First "Drop the Gun", a rock n roll classic.
Held position in the charts for 6 weeks teetering on the edge as RCA Records closed their doors in a corporate take over by BMG Records.
Second single “LOCK ME UP’”. Bad timing still didn't dim their blazing light as US and Australian tours followed. Strong enough to be granted a third album from BMG Records, New York.
RESSURECTION, their third album their final statement. An excellent and now hard to find CD was never released in the USA. They returned to Australia in late 1993 and released a single and video “ROAD TO NOWHERE” and a second single “TRAPPED INSIDE YOUR HEART”.

Cliff and Jeff recorded fourth album unreleased! (Well, now it is!!)
Toured with Sammy Hagar in Australia, in 2000, for the KINGS final hurrah.
Exhaustion and recovering from a near fatal car accident in 1999 caused Cliff a long needed lay off until 2002.
Enter THE RICH AND FAMOUS band, collaborating with brother Jeffrey Hoad, they produced 3 cd’s – THE RICH AND FAMOUS, LIKE A SUPERSTAR and STAND BACK… PREPARE TO BE AMAZED!!! All great, and uplifting, rock n roll contributions, adding to their already full bag of tricks and musical history.
Cliff’s interests are drumming, Snare Drum building called Vibration Society, kit restorations, and teaching via his very own brand of self discovery techniques, and occasionally playing his tenor sax.

Dearest fans, in reflection of this photo, is truly how I'm feeling at present! Unfortunately on the day of coming home from hospital, I was informed that my brother Jeffrey, has decided to never play with KINGS OF THE SUN / THE RICH & FAMOUS again. He has his reasons no doubt, which I will never understand . This has left me deeply saddened & at a great loss. It has taken me this long over a 2 week period to have the courage to face it & tell you all. You have all been wonderful in your encouragement for Jeff to get back out there, & also no lack of trying from my end either . So this for me along with my hand is a real life changer. All I want to do is get back out there, I don't know exactly how yet, but my soul must rock ! Life is full of changes, these are mine ! Clifford Hoad
Dear fans,
My search for a singer for the New KINGS OF THE SUN band is over !!! Jeff's talent & presence can't be replaced ! The only person who can sing our songs with any conviction & authority .......... is myself !!! I've thought long & hard over this, having to juggle my love of the drums at the same time ! I have come up with the only answer !, sharing the drum chores with another drummer, like a co-driver in a rally car. He holds down the fort as I scout the perimeter out front, then back to the kit for some synchronized time keeping , flash KOTS drum fills , big endings etc..........
I have chosen the 2nd drummer very carefully & will be announcing him shortly. He has the right heavy feel that SWINGS for the job. TWO DRUMMERS , there is nothing that can compete with this power. I will be singing out the front & from behind the kit. I CAN'T WAIT to take on this very demanding gigantuan position & kick some serious ROCK N ROLL ARSE !!! NOW ....lets all have some fucking fun !
