KnewFoulke is more of a style of music than an actual band. It’s a cross between Heavy Snyth New Age and Acoustic Folk Music (new + folk = KnewFoulke). With short, catchy tunes that usually revolve around a story, it’s easy to come away from a KF show humming their tunes. It’s interesting to note that knewfoulke is neither new age, or folksy.

Formed in 1990ish they played around the Philly area in bars, bookstores and coffee houses. Due to the hectic day schedules as well as physical distances of its members regular gigs were seldom, and after time, KF faded away, but not before producing one album titled (though the name doesn’t actually appear on the cover) Integrity Has Been Compromised, In 1993. Cassettes are still available.. yes really

In 1996 they reformed losing a bass and gaining drums and a manager to play several gigs in the Philly / Delaware area before once again fading into obscurity. But not before KILLING at the Grape St. Pub, yeah! I often thought of KF like the Brigadoon of the local Philly music scene.

In 2000 it reformed again with a different drummer and bass player to produce a second album. After dozens of studio hours working on the next album (Y is Tru) they wrapped it up, unfinished, and put it in the vault where many of the tunes sit today. The Y album was never released, but many of the songs are available free online. Well not ALL of them. Two tracks.. Drones and Anchor have now found a new home and are available online for purchase

Fast forward to present day: KnewFoulke is once again shaking off the dust to bring you live performances, classic favorites and new music. I’ve finished mixing our second official album (20 years after the purple cassette) and it’s available on all sorts of media to download and enjoy. After not playing any originals for over a decade it’s nice to break out some of my own stuff again with all the covers. You can catch us around our hometown, and apparently everybodies, Media Pa.
