Kristina Foulias

Born in Los Angeles, California on August 15, 1982, Kristina started performing in the Los Angeles area at the tender age of four. In her early years her biggest influences were her Greek musician father and his circle of friends who would come over to rehearse regularly. At 18, she moved to New York City despite vehement protests by both her parents to pursue a music career.

After financial struggles and setbacks left Kristina nearly homeless in 2001 she took a full-time job pushing paper at an office in Queens and quit music altogether for nearly 7 years as she pursued a college education. In the winter of 2008 she flew to Phoenix, Arizona to visit family for the holidays and an off-chance meeting brought her into the company of a few well-known local musicians. They inspired Kristina to put together a record as a fun, side project. This album went on to become her freshman attempt “Big Lessons of this Life,” a collection of cover songs with fresh, modern arrangements.

Boarding her flight back to NYC Kristina was prepared to, again, leave her musical aspirations behind as she readied herself for medical school that coming summer. As August crept closer, she realized that her heart belonged to one thing and one thing only, music. One week before orientation Kristina submitted a letter of withdrawal and hopped onto the next flight to Phoenix where she has been living since.

Kristina’s new EP set for release in the Summer of 2012, “You Love and I Love” is a 5 track album that is a living diary of the myriad of changes her life has undergone since making that fateful decision a few years ago. This new record is a heartfelt telling of loss and heartbreak as heard in “Release Me,” and an upbeat honest take on feminine angst called “Perfect Girl.” A combined effort with longtime friend and producer Justin Salter and Jesi Jerman, this sophomore release will hopefully seal her status as a legitimate artist.
