Kristina is a recording engineer, songwriter, guitarist and flower gardener. She runs a professional recording studio specializing in acoustic music, located at the end of a dirt road in Chelsea, VT. Pepperbox Studio is solar, wind and generator powered and fully off-the-grid.
Her newest solo album “Raven” (Sweetgrass Music 2011), is a collaboration with Grammy nominated pianist Philip Aaberg, co-produced and recorded at Pepperbox Studio, Chelsea VT and The Bin in Chester, MT. Kristina’s connections to the west also include a 2011 month-long artist residency at the Ucross Foundation.
After her self-recorded release “In The Earth’s Fading Light” was designated “Best Vermont Album of 2005” by the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, Kristina went on to further her audio engineering education at the Berklee School of Music’s online school. She recorded her next full length album “One Clear Moment” (2007) as a band member of Wagtail, and has gone on to produce and engineer many other albums for and with Vermont artists, including artists Brian Clark, Bow Thayer, Erin McDermott, Julie James, Mary McGinniss and Robert Resnik. She performs regionally with Vermont songwriter Bow Thayer and fiddler Patrick Ross, in a project known as “The Holy Plow” and produced their album “Shooting Arrows at the Moon” (Thunder Ridge Records) in 2009.
