Let Loose began life as a well known 1990s British pop / rock trio, featuring Richie Wermerling (vocals/keyboards), Rob Jeffrey (guitar) and Lee Murray (drums).
The band initially scored minor success in the UK Singles Chart with their first three singles 'Crazy For You', 'The Way I Wanna Be' and 'Seventeen'. 'Crazy For You' was eventually remixed and re-released in the UK entering the UK Singles Chart at Number 24 and climbing to finally reach a Number 2 peak selling NEARLY 600,000 copies in the process only kept from the coveted Number One spot by the runaway success of the anthemic 'Love Is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet from the soundtrack of Four Weddings & A Funeral. The success of 'Crazy For You' led to another re-release of a previous single 'Seventeen'. The track peaked at a credible Number 11.
With two hit singles secured, their debut album entitled 'Let Loose' was released . The album release was followed by the single 'One Night Stand' which peaked at Number 12. The final track to be taken from the album was the ballad 'Best In Me' which, according to the album sleeve, was recorded in lead singer Wermerling's bedroom at the age of fifteen. The track became their second UK Top 10 hit. The outfit then embarked on a small UK arena tour, and after a seven month hiatus Let Loose returned with a new single 'Everybody Say Everybody Do'. Another seven months passed before a new single was released - a cover of the Bread track 'Make It with You' which reached Number 7 and gave the group their third Top 10 success.
The follow-up album Rollercoaster was released and two months later a final single was released from the album in time for the Christmas market 'Darling Be Home Soon'.
In early 2008 Richie Wermerling and Lee Murray discussed reuniting to write and record together under the Let Loose name - Rob Jeffrey was contacted but declined to be involved in the band's comeback. Richie and Lee entered the studio in September 2008 to record the first Let Loose material in over ten years which would later become the foundation for the upcoming album release. Sadly, Richie and Lee were unable to reach an agreement but that hasn't detered Richie who is now back as Let Loose with an impressive stable of hits and mature new heartbreakers with a rocky edge. The forthcoming album entitled 'Paint It In Gold' is due for release this Spring. Richie has revisited the successful creative partnership with Mark Arnell, formerly of Bottlefly and now i94 music. Outstanding tracks such as 'Beggars & Thieves' have been honed to cutting edge perfection and sit alongside new numbers such as the glorious ballad 'Paint It In Gold' which gives the album it's name. The album release will be followed by a showcase gig this Summer which is expected to include reworked Let Loose standards such as 'Crazy For You', 'Super Sexy Real Thing' and 'Best In Me', to be performed live for the first time in over a decade.
