Jacqueline Morales, known as La Baby, is born in 1985 in Santiago the second capital of the Dominican Republic. La Baby began composing her first songs at the age of 12. Three years later La Baby leaves her home country to look for new chances in Rotterdam, a big city in the Netherlands, where she starts her study in marketing. Once settled, she meets MB (known as Elvis Dewindt), singer, songwriter and music producer of the reggaeton group Ghetto Flow. She soon becomes a member of the group which gives her the chance to share the stage with big names like Marc Anthony, Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel, Aventura, Kelis and more.
Ghetto Flow appear on several stages and big festivals in countries like France, Germany, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Holland and many more. Their hits can be heard on the Dutch radio channel FunX, where they have been in the top 30 several times. The song ‘Caminando en el mundo’ even reached second place in the top 30!
In 2011, Ghetto Flow receive three awards in the category ‘Best Reggaeton group’ in Europe, ‘Best Musicvideo’ and ‘Best Video Editing’. The last two awards were for the music video ‘Yo te quiero hacer’. Besides these awards, La Baby is rewarded the same day with an Elite Award for the best female rapper of the urban latin music in Europe.
After many requests, in 2011 La Baby decides to continue in the music industry as a solo artist. La Baby focuses on the music styles reggaeton, hip hop, dancehall, salsa, merengue, electronic music, R&B, cumbia and more.
Her newest single, ‘Sal da closet’, will be released at the end of 2012 and contains a message as support towards the homosexual community. Her second single, ‘Vive los momentos’ , a happy song with a positive message to the rhythm of Cumbia, shall be released soon after. Her debut album will be called ‘La Jefa’ and will contain several different rhythms, raps, songs and melodies. To cut a long story short: We can expect alot from La Baby!
