Since 2011 rang in, rumors flew that the highly-anticipated R&B/Pop/Soul Songbird, Producer, Songwriter, Arranger and Business Mogul LaDeana Michelle would be distributing her new release through one of the partners of Universal Music Group, i.e. Universal Republic or Island Def Jam Digital Distribution. The beautiful, multi-talented maven has proven consistent with her strong sound and universal appeal, and is no doubt surfacing again this year, in a huge way, with what many are calling, “her best yet”. Throw out the rumors.
“Like It’s Your Birthday”, LaDeana Michelle’s brand new summer dance single release, is being distributed right here, on CD Baby and it is HOT.
Praise from early critics has even branded LaDeana Michelle (who not only writes and arranges, but genuinely produces like female counterpart Missy Elliott) as "The Female “R. Kelly” (especially after her last release of baby-making music, “GLAZE”) as she creatively carves out a niche all her own. However, going just a step beyond, she can also produce techno, rock, house, rap and more varied styles that definitely differ from her own unique flavor.
She has hit home once again, in the hearts of existing fans (and new dance fans) everywhere, with “Like It’s Your Birthday”, a self-written, self-produced dance track with a Pop feel, which carries a youthful, fun, soulful flair - much like the “feel-good” vibe of Patrice Rushen’s legendary “Haven’t You Heard”. LaDeana Michelle wrote the track to convey her grave dislike for a party atmosphere that involves too much social banter and not enough dancing. “To stand around gossiping all night, comparing salaries and trying to be seen is not my idea of a party”, states LaDeana Michelle. “I’m with Jessie J. Why is everybody so serious? Life is sobering enough without adding to it. Besides, too much run-on chatter over-stimulates me. I like action!”
Though the summer dance track is not a part of her Annual “Love Quarter” campaign (Jan 1st –March 31st for the next nine years) it is still promoting love, social awareness, unity and change through music and visual arts, by keeping the mood, sound & lyrics positive and light. Her notable slogan, “Changing Lives One Day At A Time” still applies. The track is a confirmed listing on her upcoming album and definitely lightens life a bit.

She will also grace us with a book series (all which have accompanying screenplays) several additional feature films, fashion, handbag, fragrance & other lines and a boutique store. What’s funny is, there are no visible bells and whistles surrounding her and still people love her. She's down-to-earth and natural. We cling to everything LaDeana Michelle touches, no matter what, because we know. Something about her is different; almost regal in quality. She’s not trying to be like anyone else. She’s quite herself and can’t help it. As “under-promoted” as she may be, she still is undeniably interesting and we recognize what a pure talent she is. Born a gifted, highly-intelligent child, there are absolutely no limits on what she really can do. Those in the know….they KNOW.
Completely unorthodox, the active volcano (and beautiful, complex creature) known as LaDeana Michelle (whose Twitter “tweets” sometimes reflect thoughts you for sure think about but may not say) is most definitely brewing and unpredictable. The next huge film winning all those awards may indeed be part of her creative handiwork. You’ve already heard many things and had no idea she was either on them, or responsible for them. This is the same young lady who would pick Leonardo Da Vinci’s brain clean DRY at dinner if she could only invite in one person from history.
Oh yes. She will arrive in due time.
Again, we may not know exactly when she will officially spout (though they tell us it will be in October 2011) but we know it is inevitable that she will. From everything we have heard---song after song---of her phenomenal voice, style and influential messages within her music and lyrics, whenever she rears her lovely head above water for good, there won’t be a soul alive who will be able to resist her.
