Lady Drama plays a unique brand of melodic rock that Seattle’s The Stranger describes as “hopeful, intricate music—perfect for an early-autumn evening.” Their first full-length album, “Aftermath”, moves easily from introspective to euphoric, blending trombones, keyboards, and more along the way. The self-produced work was mastered by Barry Corliss at Seattle’s Masterworks Studios, and was released July 16th, 2009 on compact disc and MP3.
“...Aftermath flirts with indie pop, soulful folk, atmospheric lo-fi, and even horn-infused klezmer rock without committing to any one in particular. “Dona Nobis” recalls the reverb-soaked arrangements of Jeff Buckley, while the closing track “Letter Goodbye” plays with the more anthemic moments of a band like Neutral Milk Hotel.”
-Gwendolyn Elliott, Seattle Weekly
“...the band has plenty of potential, slipping U2-style hooks into a lo-fi rocker, droning along like Pavement only to kick in with a trad/reggae riff.”
