Larry Ankrum

BIOGRAPHY

Larry Ankrum is an American saxophonist, flutist, composer. His albums have received luminous reviews in prominent sources worldwide. Jazziz magazine pointed out that his music ranges "from bop to reflective balladry to slightly outside excursions". Mostly known are his beautiful ballads, played with a "sensuous tone" (Cadence Magazine). In 2010 he was voted a "Discovery Artist" by listeners of SkyJazz Radio in Toronto, Canada.

As a side man he has played with Prince, the Temptations, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, and Karrin Allyson. Presently, in addition to working as a studio musician, he performs as the leader of the Larry Ankrum Quartet in Los Angeles, CA.
