Who is Laureen Niamesny? A traveler on an unconventional path. I grew up in Connecticut, Montana, and New Mexico. Music was my element from the time I could sing: my mother, who owns an established vocal studio, has been my principal voice teacher throughout my life. She instilled in me a deep appreciation for classical music and opera.
How fortunate I am: I've worked as a singer/actress/performer for years now! Whether I’ve been flying madly across the stage as Wendy in Peter Pan or singing “Amazing Grace” at a very somber event in Norway, I have a knack for making a song my own.
I gained experience working for a variety of producers: Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Anita Mann Productions, Neil Goldberg Productions, as well as light opera companies in Albuquerque, NM and Springfield, MO. A highlight for me was singing with a 70-piece orchestra in Coral Springs, FL- what a natural high! The power of music never ceases to amaze me!
Once, I had to sing an Edith Piaf medley in French for an all-Japanese audience. This audience was known for its sense of propriety and reserved, quiet manner. Imagine my surprise and delight when I finished a tune and a particular audience member leapt to his feet yelling, “Bravo!” over and over! Music brings wonderful things out of people. It communicates in a way that transcends boundaries.
Which brings me to my own musical experiment: What truly resonates with people? I love writing lyrics and making tangible the ideas in my head. Producing my own cd Free Again (adult contemporary/easy listening style) was some of the most fun I’ve ever had!
Imagine a clean slate. A fresh start. A life by design- lived creatively. Now THIS is music to my ears! ( Make sure to listen to my new single "Free" - a powerful anthem sure to inspire!)
