BIOGRAPHY
Storyteller Layton Howerton lives in the Wind River Valley of Wyoming. He is a singer, songwriter, author, teacher and speaker. Layton's career in the entertainment industry spans over forty years. His critically acclaimed works have been featured on radio, television, film and in print media. His professional affiliations include BMG/Careers/Universal Music Publishing, EMI Music, Tin Cup Records, OWM/19, ShelbySongs/Whistlin' Biscuit Music Company, Sam Shelby Productions and BMI.
His long awaited upcoming release is a collection of threads from conversations with folks from all walks of life expressing spiritual, moral and philosophical ideas woven together into a cultural tapestry.
"I've been fortunate to be able to do what I love - writing stories and songs. I consider myself more of a 'gleaner' than a writer. My songs are 'factionalized' accounts, meaning they contain both fact and fiction. I glean from the things people share with me and blend them in to what I write. I've been asked... 'Did that really happen? Is that a true story?' My reply is 'yes and no' - because it may have taken more than one person's story with creative license to craft the song.
