Lend me your underbelly is a one-man-band from the Netherlands that plays subsurface psych blues and transient parallels that are characterised by a sentiment of melancholy and urgency. Lend me your underbelly tries to unroot daily reality, to place it in a more true perspective: the perceived reality and emotions of the listener itself. Lend me your underbelly is a vehicle from which the listener can borrow, use, or abuse the music for its own private thoughts. For this, a variety of instruments are used: guitars, field recordings, vocals, electronic drums, keyboards, harmoniums, bass guitars, mandolins, or whatever is needed. Loud expressive, or approaching silence.
After putting out a few instrumental low profile demos, on 31 October 2013 the debut album "Giant tadpoles among us" was released. As a first encounter, on September the 7 inch single "Tiendoornig stekelbaarsje" was released, on which also a collaboration with Bosbeetle could be heard on the song "Stormvloedkering". In parallel, the music of Lend me your underbelly will also be brought to another dimension in live performances. Through effective use of cables, live impulses, loopers, and surprise factors, the music is brought in a direct manner on stage, in which improvisations are not avoided.
From 2001 until 2008, Christian played under the name Harfst-Ruus as guitarist in the black metal band Salacious Gods, where he could be heard on the album "Piene", and live on stage during Dutch and European tours. Currently, Christian plays also as a bass guitarist in the melodic rock/metal band Downburst, of which the recordings of their debut album are being finalised at the moment.
