Lenka Lichtenberg creates uniquely Canadian world music, channeling the rich Toronto soundscapes of Middle East, India and Brazil, and her own East European heritage. Born in Prague, she is an award-winning composer, vocalist (Yiddish, English, Czech, French, Russian, Hebrew), and bandleader with 5 solo CD releases and several collaborations on her resume. In 2012, she has produced 2 CDs: "Songs for the Breathing Walls", recorded live in Czech and Moravian synagogues, and "Lenka Lichtenberg & Roula Said: Bridges". A prolific composer, Lenka’s two new compositions were chosen for publication in 2013 by Shalshelet International Festival of New Jewish Liturgy. She is also a sought-after session vocalist: most recently, her voice can be heard on “Healing Light” recordings (Room 217 Foundation), and “War Story” (History TV Channel).

Lenka is in the midst of a diverse international concert career, traveling across continents (Poland, Argentina, etc.) as a solo artist, with a trio, her six piece ensemble “Fray”, or with one of her collaborative projects: “ Bridges" - Jewish and Arabic music in dialogue, and "Lullabies from Exile", a collacoration/recording work-in-progress with Yair Dalal, of intertwined Yiddish and Babylonian music.
