Young has caught the ears of big names in the music industry, including judging panelists Norah Jones and Sheila E. An internationally award winning songwriter, her folky/pop title track "Inside/07" was chosen TOP 5 finalist in 3 international song competitions including; “Song of the Year” and “Songwriters Universe, 2nd Place Winner in the 100% Music Contest of France. Her folk song "Jezebel," was also a TOP 5 finalist, in "The Great American Song Contest." Since she caught a radio producers attention performing in "Street Cry Theatre" and was asked to play live on C.B.C. Radio in 1978, Lesley has been showcased in festivals, headlined in cafes, clubs and opened up for some "Top Billing" acts in Canada, such as Kenny MacLean (Band Platinum Blonde), performed 3 tours in Europe including "Showcase 55" in London '09, a 1 hour live concert in Amsterdam, broadcast on Dutch National Radio 5 and received top international billing in Vurige Tongen Festival, Amsterdam '09 and showcased at New York's Village hot spot "The Bitter End" in '09, and '10.

Most recently, Canadian singer-songwriter Lesley Young and her long-time partner, and electric guitar accompanist John McKay-Clements moved their touring base and residence to England in 2010. Partners since 2000, this chemistry has swept them into a great musical adventure. This "dynamic duo" collaborated on numerous recording projects and hit the stage with sucess in Canada, USA, and Europe. They are currently in pre-production for a new recording to be released in 2011.
