Leslie studied classical piano and ensemble performance at Bard College in New York, and trained at the piano with master teacher Dieter Weber in Vienna, Austria. She and her husband Fred Simmons are founding members of the American Roots Music band Tattoo, based in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire. She also performs with the Folksoul Band, a New Orleans influenced group. She has composed, directed and performed music for the Hilltop Circus, an annual production of the Pine Hill Waldorf School, since 1996. Most recently she has created the Youth and Community Fiddle Orchestra, with the goal of encouraging young people to play live and lively music out in the community – as often and as spontaneously as possible.
