Lis Addison is an award winning and internationally recognized Composer, Vocalist, Keyboardist and Electronic Musician, who creates music for soundtracks and albums. She is also a dancer and Sound Healer and is the founder of KiVo-Kinetic Voice a circle song/dance practice which encourages the practice of chant and dance as transformational tools and supports communities in East Africa.
Addison has won awards from the Pacific Composer's Forum and Meet the Composer and her CD The Grace of the Green Leaf won Best Vocal Album of 2010 on the Zone Music Reporter Awards. Her last three releases have been in the top 10 of the International Charts. Lis is a member of American Society of Composers Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS). She holds a BA in music composition and an MFA in electronic music from Mills College. Her music can be heard on conventional and Internet radio from Alaska to Zimbabwe and she has received favorable reviews in Spain, Italy, the UK, Holland, Canada, Mexico, Russia and Nationally in Conscious Dancer Magazine, Yoga Journal, Health & Spirituality, Circles of Light, the LA Times and San Francisco Chronicle among others.
Lis has taught KiVo and Facilitated Circles internationally in Mexico, Tanzania, England and Mallorca, nationally in Illinois and locally at The Globe Institute for Sound and Consciousness, the Conference for Science and Non-Duality, New Living Expo, Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living, Power to the Peaceful, Burning Man, Inner Idea, Yoga Studios, Rehab Centers, Health Clubs and in her Singing Tree Studio.
Addison has performed at the DeYoung Museum, New Langton Arts, Via Montalvo, Power to the Peaceful, the Marin Arts Festival, and with Pablo Cruise and other rock, reggae, jazz and world music ensembles in the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, Hawaii, Los Angeles and New York.
