At the core of Little Phineas and the Pheasants is of course Little Phineas himself....... L.P. got his musical start in high school, first singing doo-wop on the street corners and later performing at school functions and some local venues. From there, he learned several instruments, playing in a number of bands as a vocalist / bass player / guitar player. As his interest in music grew even deeper, he got formal training in music, and earned degrees in music theory and composition. He was a pioneer in working with electronic music synthesizers.
In later years , as a doo-wop singer he has had his own groups and also performed as part of Joe Villa's "Three Friends" and also with Fortune recording artists Gino Parks and Jay Johnson in an ad-hoc Diablos group.
On the "Doo-Woppin' In Birdland" album, Little Phineas through his alter ego Jim Dunn is responsible for all musical arrangements, and also includes a few original tunes. The makeup of the Pheasants is varied, but all are a closely related members of the Little Phineas' family.
Little Phineas currently resides in the Poconos area of PA and performs as a vocalist / keyboard player.
