Longneck Road

Biography

Longneck Road was formed in early 2008, when founding members Dick LeMasters, Robert Arena, and Miles Sykes came together to perform electric, full-band versions of LeMasters' original songs, which he had previously played as part of an acoustic guitar duo. Bassist Ron Arceneaux joined the band in early 2009, and the band has continued to experience great success. In addition to regular gigs at venues in and around the band's hometown of Beaumont, Texas, Longneck Road has performed at the 2009 South Texas State Fair, opened for Django Walker at Ford Pavilion, and is currently scheduled for its biggest show yet -- opening for The Charlie Daniels Band at a private event in Winnie, Texas, on November 5, 2009! The band plans to continue to obtain fair, festival and event bookings throughout Texas for the coming year.

Longneck Road's music is similar to what many call "Texas Country," but with a little more of a rock edge. For that reason, the band named its debut album after the genre that would best describe the music -- "Texas Rock". The music contains a hint of ZZ Top, a little bit of a Steve Earle feel, and some Texas blues guitar that the band feels is a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan. In addition to the previews on CD Baby, several full song previews are available on the Longneck Road Official Website, www.longneckroad.com as streaming audio.
