My name is Lorie Streeter. I've been singing for as long as I can remember. I like many others felt I was destined to be famous, hit it big, go on tour....what I didn't realize until now is that everything I have done up until today led me to the release of this one song.
Rewind 35 years: I won the Gong Show when I was 7 years old, I was on the Mickey Mouse Club as a Special Guest, I was on the Fernwood Tonight Show with Martin Mull, I have opened for Marty Stuart, Colin Raye, Tracy Byrd, Garth Brooks, Rita Rudner, and Rascal Flatts. All of these wonderful life experiences does not compare to the joy of being a mother. I am a mother with an Auto Immune Disease. I have Lupus.
In 2008 I was asked to write a song for an album project which would benefit patients with Auto Immune related illnesses. The project never took shape but the song you might be downloading did. My son came to me and said "Mom I have some lyrics for you song" (he was 9 at the time) and the rest as they say is history. It took two years to get back to Nashville and cut this heart felt song. While in the studio we all knew we had something special going on. There are three unique versions to "Wherever You Float". My favorite of course is the duet but there is a version where I sing it alone and there is a tender version that my son (now 11) sings on his own. We hope this song will bring you as much love to you as it has brought us.
