The group Los Cañoneros was created on November 20, 1982, is a famous popular Venezuelan cañonero group, as soon as several of their members participated in the play “La Verdadera Historia de Alma Llanera”, acclimated in 1926 with this sort of venezuelan merengue, and cañonero music.
The first performance of the group was in the Plaza Monumental de Mérida, alternating with important national and regional groups in a tribute to Simón Bolivar (first appearance like group), At that moment the seal Palacio de la Música is interested in the group and records its first long play “El Besaor”.

Their most recent record is Esta es Caracas (2012), a venezuelan merengue featuring some of the most important singers in Venezuela: Cecilia Todd, Horacio Blanco (lead vocal for the ska band Desorden Publico), Ramsés Meneses a.k.a. McKlopedia, Aristides Barbella (Malanga), Max Pizzolante, Francisco Pacheco and Serenata Guayanesa.
