BIOGRAPHY
MCO is Marcelo Carvalho Oliveira, a rock artist from Brasilia, Brazil’s capital city. A songwriter, singer and musician who also works as an arranger and producer, he usually revolves around rock music, the blues and bossa nova, with a touch of MPBr, the contemporary Brazilian Pop Music. “Lenha na fogueira” and “O meu sacanalista já me disse” are two of his “ABC-XYZ” productions (Uma Produção “X-Tudo” MCO, in Brazilian Portuguese), in which he sings and plays everything by himself. “Lenha” is a song about a time in life when a man starts to ponder, and ends up worrying more about the things he hasn’t really done than about those which he has gotten right or wrong. “Sacanalista” is more like pieces of ideas — or ideas falling to pieces, for that matter. Things heard, overheard, lived, read, misunderstood. All mixed up with somebody else’s experiences, and imagination. It’s better to err on the side of excess, than in excess of shyness.
